Cycling

In Kielce there are cycle tracks suitable for beginners as well as for mountain bike lovers.
For mountain bikers there are two routes, on the slopes of the hill, Telegraf, and round the hill, Pierścienica. The latter routes, marked red and blue, run through the forest, in an area of different heights, and they are quite difficult. The red route on the slope of Pierśnienica (the area of the old ski jump) is relatively short, but it requires a lot of effort.
The blue route, which goes along the Posłowickie range, is much longer than the red route. It runs partly along an asphalt-covered forest road, on the southern side of the range.
For the most advanced ones there is a route on the slopes of Telegraf (the highest hill in the city, 408 m asl). Even professional mountain bikers find it difficult. Some cycling events are organized there, e.g. the Championship of Poland in Mountain Biking (2002). or “Cyklofrajda” – a mountain bike competition (one of the events of the Days of Kielce in 2003).
The routes mentioned above require good condition and ability (steep downhill or uphill stretches), and a well-maintained good quality bicycle.
