Geoeducation Centre in Kielce - Wietrznia
Geoeducation Centre is located in the geological reserve Wietrznia. It constitute a very important point on the Świetokrzyski Archeo-Geological Trail. Exhibition of the centre presents a rich and unique in the world scale collection of animals living in the prehistoric periods, among others while Kielce was flooded with very warm Devonian sea, full of coral reefs.The great attraction is also a time-capsule with 5D cinema, where everyone may take a journeyto the centre of the Earth. Visitors may also take part in field researches, theoretical and practical geoeducational classes, workshops, walks through the paths in the park surrounding the object.
Geoeducational Centre is situated in the South-Eastern part of Kielce, about 3 km from the city centre near Wojska Polskiego Street.
Biesak-Białogon
Geological semi-reserve, area 13.06 ha. Established in 1981.
Situated about 6 km to the south-west of the centre of Kielce, about 1 km south of Krakowska Street (Posłowickie range)
Karczówka
Landscape semi-reserve, area 26.55 ha. Established in 1953.
Situated about 2 km to the west of the centre of Kielce. The best approach from the centre is along Karczówkowska Street.
Jan Czarnocki Reserve in Ślichowice
A strict reserve of rock formation (inanimate nature), area 0.55 ha. Estaablished in 1952.
Situated on the edge of a large housing estate. The reserve is a former quarry, located in the western part of the city on the hill Ślichowica.
Kadzielnia Amphitheatre
A strict reserve of inanimate nature, area 0.6 ha was established in 1962 after the former quarry. The location of the object makes it one of its kind and the most beautiful place in Poland. With peculiar local rocks containing a rich examples of fossil fauna, coralls or armored fish, some of which were for the first tima founded on Kadzielnia. With the passing of time the rainwater had been dissolving limenstone rock and had formed unique holes, grooves and slots on its surface, and caves within the cliff. Thus, there were 17 caves discovered there, from which some have underground tourist routes. All these pecularities witnesses the fact that about 380 million years ago was flooded with warm waters of prehistoric Devonian sea. The place has become a wonderful natural scenery for an amphitheater with more than five thousand seats, where many occasional events are held. It is here where form more than 20 years the International Scout's Festival of Culture of School Youth has been held.
Situated in the centre of Kielce, in the southern part, between the streets: Krakowska, Gagarina, Legionów and Pakosz.
